ON-SITE EVENT MANAGER

We are a small, veteran-owned business that provides service management to various state and federal agencies. Our goal and requirement is to provide the absolute best service to our client. We must think of what they want before they know they want it!   The ideal candidate for the On-Site Event Manager role will be a take charge professional with the ability to manage administration and logistics of meetings and events in the Virginia Beach, and possibly the Richmond area,  with little or no supervision. Our job is to make each event appear seamless to the client and to take the load of managing hotel logistics off of them, so they can concentrate on the actual meeting.  The ideal candidate is someone who provides outstanding customer service and is an enthusiastic professional.

Responsibilities

  • Assist client with set-up and tear-down of event, as needed.

  • Oversee and manage meeting to ensure it runs smoothly working directly with vendor (hotel) staff to fix any issues that may arise.

  • Ensure all Banquet Event Orders (BEO’s) are carried out and food is served on time and according to contract.

  • Check cleanliness of hotel rooms, event space, and event space bathrooms.

  • Oversees the good working order of the event space and AV for the meeting ensuring all client specifications are met.  If they aren’t, bring it to the vendor’s attention to fix.

  • Assist with client questions and concerns.

  • Serve as liaison with vendors on event-related matters.

 Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all.

  • Neat, clean, and professional appearance is a must.

  • Attention to detail and high expectation for quality.

  • Must be friendly and outgoing.

  • Must have the ability to accomplish projects with little supervision.

Ideal Background

Hotel/Restaurant/Events Management Industry. Degree in Marketing/Hotel Administration/Business Administration preferred, but not required. Volunteer experience planning events counts as experience! Strong customer service/FOH background.   Car Insurance required.   MUST be reliable and professional.  

Reports to:  Director of Events or Events Manager

Job Type: Part-time, as needed

Pay:  starting at $25 per hour, depending on experience.
